Closes a record set (database cursor)(glossary).Syntax:

revCloseCursor <recordSetID>

Examples:

revCloseCursor 3
revCloseCursor finalResults

Use the revCloseCursor command to clean up after using a [[record set (database cursor)|record set]] in a database.

All open record sets are closed automatically when the database they are associated with is closed. However, it is recommended practice to explicitly close record sets when your stack is finished with them.

The revCloseCursor command is part of the

Database library. To ensure that the command works in a standalone application, you must include this custom library when you create your standalone. In the Inclusions pane of the Standalone Application Settings window, make sure both the "Database" library checkbox and those of the database drivers you are using are checked.

Parameters:

  • recordSetID: The number returned by the revQueryDatabase function when the record setwas created.
  • The result: If the closure is not successful, the result is set to an error message.
